JDC Foundation Pakistan
SURPRISING FACTS OF THE JDC JOURNEY
Welfare and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Jaffriya
Disaster Management Cell Welfare Organization is also known as JDC FoundationPakistan. Syed Zafar Abbas Jafri and a few other Karachi-based young people
with similar ideologies established it in 2009. One of its early members,
Sibt-e-Jaafar Zaidi, continued to be involved with JDC up until his murder in
March 2013. JDC takes pride in not discriminating against its members based on
their ideas, political views, or social backgrounds and welcomes volunteers
from all walks of life.
The group is currently expanding its operations throughout
Pakistan in accordance with its stance that disaster victims should always be
assisted on a purely humanitarian basis without regard to their ethnicity,
religion, or sect.
Along with its volunteers, departmental heads, and president, JDC ambulance drivers also perished in targeted killings in a calendar year. In
2014, JDC provided healthcare by partnering with the Pakistan Red Crescent
Society to host a medical camp.
JDC RELIEF CAMPAIGNS
The concept of charitable activity went popular on social
media, and people from various nations, including Turkey, China, and India,
adopted the strategy of assisting those in need in various locations. The JDC
brought the "Diwar-e-Mehrbani" and "Bazaar-e-Mehrbani"
concepts to Pakistan in 2016. These events took place at the Expo Centre in
Karachi. For the benefit of those in need, fresh, useable clothing is hung on
the wall at a designated location beneath the wall of love.
When the rural districts of Sindh, Baluchistan, and KPK were
impacted by the overflow in September 2022, JDC participated in the flood
relief campaign across Pakistan. Individuals and organizations, including
banking institutions, made enormous donations to help the affected families.
Because of the 2015 Pakistan heat wave emergency dead remains
that cannot be placed in other hospitals/cold storage facilities for sanitary
storage, JDC created a temporary cold storage facility at Numaish Chowrangi
until burial preparations were arranged. With an increase in unexpected fatalities, the
metropolitan city of Karachi experienced a lack of graves for the burial of the
bodies, resulting in an unusual price increase. Thus, they decided to assist
them through funding for burial arrangements in order to alleviate an enormous
load of booking a grave in Karachi's graveyards and arranging a funeral in
time. They also run an ambulance system across Pakistan and assists with
disaster relief activities and emergency situations.
